A clear win for Arsenal. After two first half goals from captain Odegaard, Saliba sealed the deal with a beautiful strike to make it 3-0. That he hit it really well is proved by Zinchenko’s disbelieving grimace in front of the penalty area.
A situation that is rarely seen. A millimetre pass was assisted by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. He accurately found his teammate across almost the entire pitch and Gray perfected an independent break to level at the final 1-1.
Chelsea had a very unfortunate and unsuccessful game. It did not do anything at all, taking a 3: 0 drubbing and a red card from Leeds as favourites. But if we had to name someone who still stood out from all the mayhem it would probably be Mendy, judge for yourself.
There was one standard situation that made it into our selection. Brentford’s footballers took a well-rehearsed corner kick, which was converted by Norgaard. The home goalkeeper had no chance.
The whole Manchester United team put in a vastly different performance to their last appearance and the reward was to take all 3 points at home against eternal rivals Liverpool. That was the coolness of Jadon Sancho’s opening goal.
As an added bonus, here’s a montage of goal throws from the Newcastle-Manchester City game. Six goals in the game meant the final points were shared and thus the first loss of the year for the Citizens.
