Manchester United are one of the best teams in the Premier League, but they are experiencing a slower start this season. Both players and goalkeepers often make mistakes in matches. And it is the goalkeeping department that the Reds would like to strengthen in Manchester, according to recent reports.
Manchcester United have shown a lot of interest in Slovakian goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka, who now plays for Newcastle United but has also played for Sparta Prague and Liberec.
David de Gea and Tom Heaton are currently goalkeepers for the Red Devils. The former has been the team’s number one for a long time, but as he gets older he is not one of the top goalkeepers he once was.
Dúbravka should give him a new impetus, as he would come to give him more competition. Newcastle took on Tranmere Rovers in the Carabao Cup and won 2-1. Martin Dúbravka was not part of the team at all.
There was a report from the club that it was due to illness, but SkySports journalists found out that the player is in talks with Manchester United for a transfer.
In previous seasons, Dúbravka was Newcastle’s number one, but with the arrival of England goalkeeper Nick Pope, he has moved into a substitute role.
It remains to be seen whether he would be able to push de Gea out of goal in Manchester or occupy the same role as he does now.
