Slavia have an important match in Greece today. It will challenge Panathinaikos in the third round, which it defeated 2:0 at home and thus created a nice lead for the rematch. What did Jindřich Trpišovský say at the pre-match press conference?
Slavia Prague will take on Panathinaikos of Greece, who they beat 2-0 in the opening game, in a rematch of the third round of the Conference Europa League.
However, we can expect a more challenging line-up for the rematch, due to the injuries that Slavia’s squad is currently suffering from. How are the players who had to be substituted against Zlín due to injuries?
“Ewerton unfortunately couldn’t fly with us. Moses Usor did not train on Monday, but he did attend Tuesday’s training. We believe he will be fine. Petr Shevcik didn’t train on Tuesday, the injury site is very painful.
We’ll see at the pre-game training, the decision will be made on Thursday after the warm-up. Moses Usor will be 100 percent, for Petr it’s 50:50,” said Jindřich Trpišovský at the press conference. Besides these players, Yira Sor is also being dealt with.
“Yira trained for the first time on Tuesday without the team. On Wednesday he went to team training for the first time. The promise is that he will be ready for part of the game. It will be more a question of pain threshold and what he’s willing to risk. He is not medicated but he wants to play and be ready,” he added.
The 2-0 lead favours Slavia to qualify, but it is nothing that cannot be overcome. What style will Slavia play against a Greek team that will want to attack?
“We are a team that tries to play offensively. It is more natural for us to play constructively and be strong on the ball. We are not a team that can stand up and defend,” the coach explained.
