Lionel Messi scored a beautiful goal for his PSG side on Saturday, but it wasn’t the prettiest goal to be seen in France that day. In fact, probably the best one happened in Ligue 2.
In France’s second highest league, Laval hosted visiting Guingamp and the entertainment was taken care of. The home side took the lead in the fifth minute, but in the end they didn’t get a point.
All three points went to the team from the village in the west of France. Maxime Barthelme and also Jérémy Livolant provided the turning point in the second half.
It was he who secured all the points with his wonderful goal. In the 74th minute, the home defence blocked a centre, but then Livolant got a hand to the ball.
His shot was perfect and he hit the top right corner from long range. It was a day he will never forget and one he will be proud of for the rest of his career.
After two rounds, Guingamp are now in first place in the second French competition with a 100% record, followed by relegated Bordeaux.
