Neighborhood derby! Slavia will face Trnava or Rakow with Petrášek if they advance
Prague Slavia will face Panathinaikos in the third round of the Conference League. However, they already know who they will face if they advance to the fourth round. And there could even be a Czech-Slovak derby.
Prague Slavia will face Panathinaikos in the third round of the Conference League. However, they already know who they will face if they advance to the fourth round. And there could even be a Czech-Slovak derby.
After a couple of years, the Seškivians didn’t even enter the Champions League fight, they had to settle for second place in the Conference League. And they won’t even qualify for it directly, but have to go through three preliminary rounds.
They did the first task, beating Gibraltar St. Joseph’s 4-0 and 7-0. In the third round, however, a much tougher opponent awaits, Greece’s Panathinaikos. The team with the famous name is not what it used to be and finished fourth in the Greek league last season, but it is still a strong opponent.
If Slavia were to knock them out, the winner of the Spartak Trnava/Rakow Czestochowa double-header would await them in the last round.
The Seškivians could then face our neighbours, either Slovak Trnava or Polish Rakow. Czech international Tomas Petrasek is playing for the latter.
Slavia would play the first match away, the rematch would take place in Eden. It is certainly a very acceptable draw, but now they have to get past Panathinaikos.
