We beat a Premier League team, what did you do? Everton lose embarrassingly to Minnesota, the internet is full of jokes

The start of the Premier League is approaching and the teams’ preparations are reaching their peak. The start of the Premier League is approaching and the teams’ preparations are reaching their peak. Several of them will be on a preparatory tour overseas, where they will compete with the local MLS teams. This experience will not be viewed too positively by Everton. Minnesota ran it over with the difference in class and the internet was flooded with jokes.

Everton want to make amends for a bad season, they’ve had a bad season in preparation

The traditional English side had a lot to do last season to stay afloat. Under Frank Lampard, however, they finally did it and can look forward to another season in the Premier League. But there is room for improvement if the new season is to be better.

And how is it doing? Well, judging by the pre-season results, it’s not looking so rosy. Everton have managed two pre-season games so far, losing both. First, they lost to Arsenal 0-2. Now, however, a more embarrassing defeat has come.

The Toffees played Minnesota United and after 36 minutes it was 0:3. And unfortunately for them, that was not the end. In the 78th minute, the fourth and final goal of the game fell into Everton’s net.

We beat a Premier League team, what did you do?

The matches between European teams and American ones usually don’t end so gloriously for the teams from overseas. Most of the time, European clubs win by a class difference, but sometimes American teams manage to get a closer result or a surprising win.

But a 4-0 win over one of the Premier League’s most traditional participants? That, in short, is a moment to be properly celebrated. And that’s what’s happening in Minnesota. At least on social media, which was a joy to watch after the game.

“We beat a team from the Premier League tonight. What did you guys do?” asks the admin of the twitter account after the big win.

The fun, however, was all over the internet. Media company Barstool Sports, for example, commented on the result by saying, “It’ s soccer from now on.” It also reacted to Chelsea falling to Charlotte after penalty kicks.
