Aalborg vs. Copenhagen: Preview and betting tips
Copenhagen have sold several of their stars after a successful league season, yet are clear favourites to win the domestic title. They lost in the first round and cannot afford to falter in the second round against Aalborg. What to expect from the game?
Copenhagen have sold several of their stars after a successful league season, yet are clear favourites to win the domestic title. They lost in the first round and cannot afford to falter in the second round against Aalborg. What to expect from the game?
Aalborg fought for the European cups last year, but as the fifth team in the group for the title, they lost the game against Viborg and Europe will not concern them. They also lost to Viborg in the opening league round of the season, so they will be fighting for their first points on Sunday.
Copenhagen dominated the league last year after a two-year hiatus and are assured of cups as they are seeded for the fourth Champions League preliminary round. However, they made an embarrassing start to the league when they lost 0-1 at home to newcomers Horsens.
For the home side, it was winger Louka Pripa who scored sixteen goals and assisted five more last season. Serbian spearhead striker Milan Makaric scored eleven goals and assisted twice, even peeking into the national team.
Pep Biel had an excellent season last year, the Spanish offensive midfielder scored eighteen times and assisted five times. After the departure of several mainstays, the young Icelandic midfielder Hákon Arnar Haraldsson (5+3 last year) will have a lot of space.
Aalborg have not been doing well in recent weeks, losing four of their last five games, during which they have scored ten times.
This plays into the hands of Copenhagen, who have scored thirteen goals in their last four games. Given Copenhagen’s scoring form and Aalborg’s struggling form, I think the visitors will win.
