The Czech Republic will have a representative in Chelsea! After the end of Petr Čech in the management of the club, Kateřina Svitková, who is transferring from West Ham, will take over the imaginary scepter!
Czech women’s football is on the rise, Andrea Staskova transferred from Juventus to Atlético Madrid this year, and now another national team mainstay is transferring.
Twenty-six-year-old Kateřina Svitková is moving from West Ham to Chelsea, the reigning Women’s Super League champions.
Svitkova has signed a three-year contract at the club and will join her teammates for a pre-season training camp in the USA.
The offensive midfielder, who has played 34 games for West Ham and scored five goals, will wear the number 13 jersey.
Svitková has been with West Ham for two seasons, before that she was a mainstay of Prague’s Slavia, where she regularly scored beautiful goals, for example in the Bayern Munich net.
“I am living my dream! All my life I wanted to play for this club because I have been a fan since I was a child. Chelsea is a team with a great history in men’s and women’s football, it has the best players and coaches and I can’t wait to meet them all,” she told the club’s website.
