Tal Ben Chaim, a well-known player in the Czech Republic, signs a contract with the team where he started his professional football career. This is the team playing in the 2nd Israeli league Maccabi Petah Tikva.
Tal Ben Chaim spent three seasons in the Czech Republic. He only wore the Spartan jersey in 20 games for the A-team and two games for the B-team. The reason why he played only such a small portion of games were long-term injuries in the knee area.
At least that’s how the player presented it. Some fans and club staff suspected Ben Chaim of exaggerating his injuries and not working on his recovery.
During his engagement at Sparta Prague, he was allegedly treating his injuries at home in Israel, receiving a salary of around CZK 3 million per month. He viewed the whole situation as a vacation.
At the time, Ben Chaim’s transfer to Sparta was a record. Sparta paid 76 million crowns for him. This Stramaccioni reinforcement, like most, never really took off and a contract termination followed.
This was followed by a return to his homeland. Ben Chaim signed for the team that launched him into the world.
The well-known Maccabi Tel Aviv showed interest in him and the player himself couldn’t resist. There he played 51 games in two seasons. As a member of the starting line-up he managed to score 7 goals.
Now, after the expiration of his contract, he is heading to the aforementioned Maccabi Petah Tikva, which was relegated this season. Ben Chaim’s task will be clear, and it will be to dig up a promotion to the first league with his parent club.
