Next opponent? I don’t know what the UFC prefers. I’d like to communicate more with the organization to find out what it wants from me, Procházka said

It’s been a week since the win over Glover Teixeira, but the fight is still being talked about and will be for a while. Especially about who will be able to challenge Walk next. Who would the Czech champion like to see?
He has been the UFC welterweight champion for a week now. Jiri Prochazka is now turning the talk and talking about a fight that definitely wasn’t in his hands.
Of course, there are also questions about what his next opponent will be. That’s not decided by the fighter, but by the organization, which is notorious for not being very communicative with its employees.
“I don’t know what the UFC prefers. I’d like to communicate more with the organization to find out what it wants from me,” Walk said in an interview with The MMA Hour.
From his perspective, Jan Blachowicz makes the most sense because their fight could happen in Europe, which could bring in a lot of domestic fans.
“Of all the names below me, he’s probably the most dangerous opponent ever. But I have to respect Glover as well. One option is to offer him a rematch, the other is to fight Blachowicz. I have to discuss it with the UFC and my manager,” he added.
Now, however, it looks like neither is realistic. Dana White has said in the past that the challenger will be one of the Anthony Smith – Magomed Ankalaev pairing.
Either way, it will definitely be something to watch. The defence should be on the agenda this year, or at least that’s what Prochazka himself wants. So the UFC has no reason to stop him.
