Bodo Glimt vs. Aalesund: Preview and betting tips
Bodo Glimt has been a dark horse in the European Conference League, but has not done well in the Norwegian competition. If it wants to narrow its gap to the lead, it must beat Aalesund on Sunday. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?
Bodo Glimt has been a dark horse in the European Conference League, but has not done well in the Norwegian competition. If it wants to narrow its gap to the lead, it must beat Aalesund on Sunday. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?
Bodo Glimt is floundering on the league scene after a run through the Conference Europa League, where he was stopped only in the quarter-finals by AS Roma. They are only sixth in the table, eleven points behind leaders Lillestrom with a game to spare.
Aalesund have drawn 2-2 in the last two rounds and, despite having very different ambitions, are only a score behind Glimt. They are newcomers to the top flight, but have a comfortable seven-point lead on the bargaining position.
Experienced winger Amahl Pellegrino, author of ten goals and five assists, is firing in the home team’s jersey. Central midfielder and team captain Ulrik Saltnes scored eight times and assisted seven times.
On the away side, forward Sigurd Haugen adapted quickly to the Norwegian elite, scoring six goals and assisting on two others. Twenty-year-old Aalesund talent Isak Dybvik Määttä netted three times from the left wing position.
Glimt has relied on a goal-scoring attack, scoring more than once in five of the last six games, AS Roma have scored ten goals in four games this season.
Aalesund, on the other hand, have struggled defensively, scoring at least twice in three of their last four games.
Given Glimt’s scoring form and home advantage, I think they will win by at least two goals.
