Jiří Procházka made MMA history at the just concluded UFC 275 tournament, not only in the Czech fight scene. It is widely believed by the fan community that his bloody war with Brazilian Teixeira is quite possibly the biggest title fight of the division in the history of the world’s biggest UFC organization.
The Czech samurai’s star is skyrocketing and fans around the world are going crazy for him. And not just them. UFC owner Dana White certainly has his hands full and it’s no wonder.
The outcome of the main draw couldn’t have gone better for the organization. Glover Teixeira, who is 42 years old already confirmed before the fight that he will soon retire from his career as an elite fighter. Jiri Prochazka is currently the youngest title holder in the UFC and has his career ahead of him.
Although Dana White was absent from the UFC gala due to his son’s 21st birthday celebration, he didn’t miss the entire event, at least via the screen. Like the whole world, he was stunned by the surprising ending of the Moravian fighter.
He shared a video on social media of how he couldn’t believe his own eyes when Prochazka finishes Teixeira with a submission. For Teixeira, it was the first loss on a submission in his 20-year career, which numbers 41 fights.
“He knocked it off,” exclaimed White in amazement in the aforementioned video. “No f**king way, Jiri just made him tap out, ” the charismatic promoter fumed.
“That was a f**king fight, what a f**king war, ” he cheered. “I think my phone is going to blow up,” he added, adding that he received one text after another as soon as it was over.
Jiri Prochazka has done something that will be talked about in the world of mixed martial arts for a long time.
