Liverpool are likely to lose one of their biggest stars this summer. Sadio Mané, the Reds’ offensive ace, is on his way out of Anfield. The 30-year-old footballer has admitted that he will make his decision based on the opinion of the Senegalese.
Until recently, there was speculation about the future of Mohamed Salah, however, it seems that another of Liverpool’s offensive aces will eventually leave, namely Sadio Mané, who arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2016 from Southampton.
Mané arrived as a footballer with great potential for a sum of around a respectable €41 million, and he has repaid that sum to the penny. At Liverpool, he won all the trophies he could win. He was even top scorer in the Premier League once.
Currently, the value of the 30-year-old Senegalese is double the amount he came to Anfield for. And rightly so. He has played 269 games for Liverpool with a record of 120 goals scored and 48 assists.
His contract at the club expires in a year, he hasn’t signed a new one and doesn’t intend to. Now, moreover, he has spoken quite clearly about his future while fulfilling his national team duties, apparently hinting at his departure.
“Like everyone else, I’m on social media and I see the comments. Don’t 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool? I will do what they want. We will see soon. I’m in no hurry to go anywhere,” he let himself be heard at the press conference.
For Liverpool, the departure of Mané will be a big blow and they will be looking hard for a replacement. And where should the Senegalese go? The most talked about club is Bayern Munich, which, according to foreign media, is leading a “fighter race” for his signature.
Liverpool fans then fear that the aforementioned Salah will also leave in a year’s time. His contract expires in a year and there is only talk of a new one.
