Mbappé, you son of a bitch! Real Madrid fans remembered the Frenchman’s rejection during LM celebrations

Real Madrid fans have had a rollercoaster week. First the huge disappointment of Kylian Mbappé’s absence, then the incredible joy of winning the Champions League. In celebration, they brought both emotions together.

It’s actually a bit of a paradox. Just last week, Mbappé was loved by the fans and considered a player in his own right, the Santiago Bernabéu even applauded him during the Champions League eight-final, even though he scored Real Madrid’s goal.

And now he is enemy number one and one of the most hated players. What has he done to deserve this? He agreed a contract with Real Madrid, gave them a promise to sign, but wanted to wait until after the season. He was even supposed to accept part of the signing bonus in the winter, there was nothing to suggest he shouldn’t play for the White Ballet.

But he dragged his decision out for so long that Madrid became nervous. So in the meantime, Real let go of Erling Haaland, who was also interested, as he had arranged the arrival of Mbappé. The Frenchman was supposed to announce his end at PSG after the last game, but he suddenly stopped answering the phone to president Florentino Pérez and did not announce what was happening.

In the end, he accepted PSG’s astronomical offer, which secured him for several lifetimes ahead, then sent Pérez a “lame” text message. The media then carried a report from the player’s entourage that Real Madrid were just taking advantage to make PSG raise their offer as high as possible.

Los Blancos fans thus see him as a traitor who cannot keep his word and, moreover, cares more about money than his childhood dreams. That is what he has always talked about, that playing for Real Madrid is his childhood dream. And when he had the opportunity, he chose a fat contract instead.

For Real Madrid fans, he is a dead man and should never set foot on the Santiago Bernabéu again. They made that clear at the Champions League celebrations.

When the players took to the stage in Cibeles Square, captain Marcelo took the microphone. “Mbappé, hijo de puta!” translated as “Mbappé, you son of a bitch!”.

Marcelo just waved his hand and let the fans sing what they wanted. But a moment later he broke the hate and instead started the chant “Como no te voy a querer”.
