Real Madrid won the league and the Champions League is still in play. Still, the Spanish royal club has been trying to get another huge star on its roster. For at least a year there has been talk of Kylian Mbappé coming to Madrid.
However, this did not happen and the trio of Mbappé, Benzema and Vinicius will not be seen by the fans. The talented French footballer has signed a contract at PSG until 2025.
It’s not very often that a royal club gets binned. That’s probably why Mbappé was not counted on to arrive after all. There was no reason to have a backup plan in place. Now, however, it’s clear that was a mistake.
Real Madrid are therefore looking for other quality players who could, even if only temporarily, take the position that was to be occupied by the jewel of French football.
There are not many players of Mbappé’s quality, but according to the English media, Real Madrid are already looking specifically at England, specifically Manchester. Even more precisely in the squad of the English champion, Manchester City.
According to the Daily Star, the Spanish champion is considering the purchase of Raheem Sterling, a 27-year-old English international who has been one of the best footballers in England for a long time, with the exception of last season.
Sterling is capable of playing on both wings, can score and assist, has the ability to create chances for his teammates, is quick and technically gifted. Moreover, he would certainly dare for a Real Madrid engagement.
The star Englishman has played 47 competitive games this season, scoring 17 goals and adding 9 assists. However, he has had better seasons. Motivation in the form of playing for Real Madrid would definitely give him a proper kick.
While Transfermarkt estimates his value at just under £73 million, the English media reports that Real Madrid could acquire him for as little as £50 million.
