Frankfurt expects West Ham to face an invasion of fans as well. Eintracht boss urges supporters to party outside Buckingham Palace

Eintracht Frankfurt is once again doing fantastic advertising in Europe, as well as for the whole of German football and especially its fan scene. By invading the Camp Nou, it has gained respect and attention, but West Ham are not going to allow anything like what happened to Barcelona to happen. What do the Germans have to say?

Eintracht Frankfurt are experiencing a huge euphoria. After all, they have beaten Barcelona in the Europa League and advanced to the semi-finals of the competition. It’s not every day you get that. In addition, the fans of the German team literally shamed the Catalans by bringing 30,000 Eintracht supporters to the famous Camp Nou.

Barcelona offered the German club only 5 thousand tickets. West Ham wants to avoid something similar when Frankfurt play them in London on Thursday. Eintracht has been allocated only 3,000 tickets, and the German fans have been strongly warned, as have the English ones.

The West Ham management has clearly announced that if anyone tries to resell a ticket to Frankfurt fans, they will not be punished. The club has even hired people to monitor and prevent overselling on the internet. Eitracht supporters then face the risk of being thrown out of the stadium if they enter the stands with a similarly obtained ticket.

And what does the German club’s management have to say about this? The club’s boss Peter Fischer said back in 2018 after winning the DFB-Pokal that beating Bayern in the cup final was better than the best champagne combined with the best sex. He duly enjoyed the ride with the fans and would love to do it again.

Although he does not expect 30,000 people to come to the stadium again, he believes that West Ham will honour more than 3,000 Frankfurt fans with their visit. “We can do it,” he exhorts the fans.

Fischer would love to see a celebration party. “I’m not going to let it take away from me. No matter where we play in Europe. We will gather with the fans, although I don’t know where yet. Why not in front of Buckingham Palace? There’ s not much going on there now,” he joked.

But it is questionable whether he will have reasons to be happy and celebrate. West Ham are favourites in the double header, but so were Barcelona.
