Everton are having a bad season and are struggling to stay in the elite. However, on Sunday they took on one of the best teams in the competition and managed to beat Chelsea at Goodison Park. The goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was especially instrumental in this great performance.

On Sunday afternoon, the Premier League offered a clash between the third worst team in the league and the third best. Everton welcomed Chelsea to their stadium and were certainly not in the role of favourites, on the contrary.

However, the Toffees fans decided to help their favourites and show their support. At night, they set off several fireworks in front of the hotel where the Chelsea players were sleeping. Then, as the bus with the Everton stars headed towards the stadium, the atmosphere was incredible.

The great atmosphere carried over to the stadium, where the fans drove Everton to a good result. And the effect was overwhelmingly positive. The Toffees presented a disciplined and heroic performance, managed to win 1: 0 and could have added more goals.

But the biggest hero was the England national goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who made several great and important saves. The key ones were especially in the 59th minute.

He even took a hard close range shot to the head on one save. However, he was able to bounce back and was one of the leaders of his team not only in performance but also in leadership.

Despite the win, Everton are in 18th relegation place, however, they are two points behind Burnley and have a game in hand. Frank Lampard’s charges have everything in their hands.
