West Ham are not going to end up like Barcelona! Strict rules apply to ticket sales and possession for the Frankfurt game

Eintracht Frankfurt caused quite a stir in Europe when 30,000 German fans descended on the Camp Nou. West Ham, who are Frankfurt’s next opponents in the Europa League, certainly don’t want to end up like Barcelona and are keeping a close eye on ticket sales.

A German invasion of England? At most, it is unlikely to be anywhere near as successful as it was in Catalonia, when around 30,000 Eintracht Frankfurt fans packed into Barcelona’s stadium.

Fans of the German outfit bought tickets from supporters of the home club. Barcelona, of course, felt insulted and humiliated. Both the club and the fans. Steps were immediately taken to ensure that a similar situation could never happen again.

And it was also a warning to all of Frankfurt’s other potential rivals. Eintracht fans are not only famous for their exits in European cups. But in London they are unlikely to do so, as West Ham are not going to end up like Barcelona.

The Catalans have reserved around 5,000 tickets for Frankfurt fans. West Ham, of course, won’t offer any more. It has even announced that the game will be a sell-out. However, the ticket sales were accompanied by tough rules and conditions.

The English club has warned in advance all fans who get their hands on tickets that if they place their tickets on resale, they will be blocked from renewing for the 2022/23 season.

Despite this, however, several tickets have been found for resale on various websites. However, West Ham have employed several people to identify ticket holders and invalidate their tickets.

Among other things, West Ham have warned Frankfurt fans that if they enter the stadium using an oversold ticket and that they could be ejected from the stadium if they are in a sector other than their designated one.

That doesn’t go down well in Germany, and even the German tabloid Bild took a swipe at West Ham, accusing the English club of threatening and intimidating German fans.
