In Sunday’s second league match Viktoria Žižkov welcomed Zbrojovka Brno. This match had a clear favourite. While the Brno footballers are first in the table and have ambitions to qualify for the first league, Žižkov is last and will probably be relegated.
A certain boost for the Žižkov players could be the change of coach before the match, when instead of the dismissed Pulpit the team was led by coach Veselý. However, even this did not help the home team.
Zbrojovka left nothing to chance and calmly walked to victory. Already in the 27th minute they opened the scoring when a shot by Prichystal was unluckily knocked into his own net by home stopper Sakala. It was indeed a very unlucky match for Sakala as he had to leave the field a few minutes later due to injury.
Zbrojovka added more goals in the second half. Jakub Nečas scored shortly after coming out of the booths and hit goalkeeper Halouska with a hard shot. Jakub Řezníček then increased the score to 3:0 with a shot from close range that gave the goalkeeper no chance to intervene.
Despite the fact that Žižkov had a few passages in the match when they managed to threaten with dangerous actions, the home team failed to score a goal. Zbrojovka, on the other hand, did not allow any more pressure from the opponent in the end, and kept the match safe.
With this win, the Brno players consolidated their first place in the table, which they lead by twelve points over second-placed Vlašimí. Zbrojovka also lost to Vlašim, who lost to Prostějov on Saturday. On the other hand, Žižkov is twelve points behind in the second league.
