Inter Milan will take on Spezia in the 33rd round of Serie A on Friday and, if they win, they will move into first place in the table ahead of city rivals AC. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Spezia have picked themselves up in their last four league games, gaining seven points and moving away from the relegation zone. From fifteenth place, it has an eleven-point lead over eighteenth-placed Venice, so it has the situation in its own hands.
Inter are highly motivated to win the match, if they win they will return to first place, currently two points behind leaders AC. On the other hand, the Nerazzurri have won only two of their last four games in Serie A.
The home side rely on Simone Bastoni, the Italian midfielder has scored three goals and assisted four times so far. AEK Athens summer signing Daniele Verde is also doing well, scoring six times and assisting on four goals.
Following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, there is even more attention on Lautar Martinez, with the Argentine star boasting a 16+2 record. Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has netted seven times and assisted nine.
Despite the decent results, Spezia have struggled offensively, scoring more than one goal in only one of their last six games.
But Milan are in the same situation, despite having the league’s best attack with sixty-five shots, they have scored more than one goal in only one of their last five games.
Given the poor form of Spezia’s offense, I think Inter will win by two or more goals.
