Jiri Prochazka already knows when and where he will fight Glover Teixeira for the UFC welterweight title. In addition, the organization announced two more attractive fights that will take place at UFC 275.
The bout, which has been delayed for some time now, hopefully has a final date. Jiri Prochazka is expected to face Brazilian champion Glover Teixeira on June 11 at UFC 275 in Singapore. The organization made the announcement on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the fight was originally scheduled to take place in early May at UFC 274, which has been one great fight after another. However, the UFC needed some sort of draw for the next numbered tournament, which apparently led to the rescheduling of Prochazek’s fight.
In addition to Prochazka’s duel with Teixeira, the UFC in Singapore will offer combat sports fans one more title fight. The flyweight belt will be defended by legendary fighter Valentina Shevchenko, who will be challenged by Taila Santos.
Marvin Vettori’s fight with Robert Whittaker will definitely be interesting as well. In addition, however, the tournament will pit Brendan Allen and Jacob Malkoun or Kyung Ho Kang and Saimon Oliveira against each other.
Holding the tournament in Singapore could be enjoyable for fans from the Czech Republic through the timing of the match. It all depends on whether the gala will be held at a favorable time for American or Singaporean audiences.
The UFC will return to Singapore for the first time since 2019, back then the tournament was held in the afternoon for the Central European crowd, so there was no need to get up. How it will be now remains to be seen.
