Patrik Schick is one of the biggest stars not only in Leverkusen. In the current season, he is one of the best players on the European continent. It is no wonder that there is talk of his transfer to a better club. But that won’t be easy.

20 league games, 20 goals, 3 assists. Who would have thought it until recently, but these are indeed the stats of a Czech footballer in one of the top five European leagues. Patrik Schick is simply conquering the German Bundesliga.

Last season, the Czech striker was more or less a rookie at Leverkusen, but he gained a lot of confidence at the summer Euros and has been scoring goal after goal ever since. Both at the club and in the national team.

Currently Schick is the second top scorer in the Bundesliga, only Robert Lewandowski is doing better, but he is in a league of his own, having scored 31 goals. Behind the Leverkusen star is also the spectacular talent Erling Haaland, who has scored only 16 goals due to injury.

Back in the summer the Czech striker was worth €28 million according to Transfermarkt, now he is valued at €40 million. However, according to German media, Bayer would not let their star go for less than 70 million.

Quite possibly, however, they will not let him go at all. And no wonder. The WhoScored statistics site, which regularly awards grades to footballers in the top leagues, has Schick in a nice 11th place in its season-long league rating.

According to various speculations, Dortmund, for example, are interested in Schick, but there has also been a lot of talk about possible transfers to Spain or England. However, Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro dismisses any speculation.

“No, we will not sell Patrik Schick. There is no need to talk about it at all. We are very happy to have him. We are counting on him firmly for the next few years,” Carro said in an interview with Sky Germany.

Schick is under contract at Leverkusen until 2025, so the club is certainly in no hurry to sell him. The footballer himself is grateful for the chance, and he is as satisfied as he can be and does not intend to force a transfer.

At the age of 26, the Czech striker still has the peak of his career ahead of him. After years of changing several clubs, a longer stay at one club will certainly not do him any harm. On the contrary. Moreover, in a team that clearly suits him.
