Tottenham will play an important game in the Champions League on Sunday, welcoming a spirited Newcastle at home. If Spurs still want to think about fourth place, they absolutely must win. What to expect from the game?
Tottenham have picked themselves up in March and with four wins from their last five games, they are in the running for the Champions League. They are three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal in fifth place, but the Gunners have one more game to play.
Newcastle have climbed out of the relegation zone with a big contribution from their new owner, but have lost their last two games. From fourteenth place, they have a comfortable nine-point lead on the relegation zone.
Since the beginning of the year Harry Kane has been on fire, the English striker has twelve league goals and five assists. Korea’s Heung Min Son is doing even better, with six assists to go with his thirteen goals.
The visitors are led by Allan Saint-Maximin, the French winger has scored five goals and assisted three times and is one of the league’s best dribblers. Under the new coach, Joelinton and winter signing Kieran Trippier have also gone up in performance.
Tottenham boast an excellent offensive performance, scoring sixteen goals in the last five rounds.
Newcastle, on the other hand, have solidified their defence by buying reinforcements, they haven’t scored more than one goal in twelve games.
Given the form of the attacking trio of Son, Kane, Dejan Kulusevski, I think Spurs will win and score at least two goals.
