Champions League
Exactly four years ago, Ronaldo delivered a stunning scissor kick into the Juventus net. Recall one of his best goals
In the 17/18 season Real Madrid won 4 trophies, the most valuable of which was undoubtedly the Champions League, which the club won for the third time in a row. The star Cristiano Ronaldo was a big part of this, dominating the scorers’ table with 15 goals. His goal against Juventus in particular was well worth it.

Winning the Champions League 3 times in a row is not easy, after all, only Real Madrid have done it. When the White Ballet were aiming for that coveted hat-trick in 17/18, it was a tough road.
Even in the group stage it was tough, Group H consisting of Tottenham, Real, Dortmund and APOEL was rightly labelled the group of death. Zinedine Zidane’s team eventually advanced from second place.
In the eighth round, PSG awaited Real, already with Neymar and Mbappé, but the Spanish side advanced after wins of 3: 1 and 2: 1 – the Portuguese goal scorer with 7 at the back contributed 3 goals.
The quarter-final put another tough challenge in Real’s way. Namely, Italian champion Juventus Torino. Ronaldo was the star of the show here too.
He opened the scoring at the Allianz Stadium in the 3rd minute, but saved the main thing for the second half. First, Marcelo tried to find him with a centre, but he didn’t aim accurately and the experienced duo of Buffon – Chiellini seemed to have everything under control.
However, they couldn’t handle the situation and because of their hesitation, Ronaldo got the ball after all. He presented it to Vázquez in front of an almost empty net, but Buffon still kept it out.
Carvajal got to the deflected ball and sent it back into the area in front of the goal, where Ronaldo jumped to it and sent it past the helpless Buffon with a great scissors.
This earned the current top scorer in football history a round of applause from the Juventus fans. He himself described this goal as one of his best.
In the end, Real won the match 3-0 and although Juventus almost managed a sensational comeback in the return leg, it was none other than Ronaldo who confirmed his side’s progress with a penalty in stoppage time.
In the semi-final, Zidane’s charges beat German champions Bayern Munich 4-3 and secured their place in the final against Liverpool.
There, the two-goal hero was Gareth Bale, who also showed a beautiful scissors.
Even then, a large part of the football public was already wondering about the performance of the then thirty-three-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo.
Probably not everyone would have believed at that time that the legendary Portuguese would be capable of doing so 4 years later. However, the opposite is true. He is currently showing his skills in the Premier League, and this season he is Manchester United’s top scorer.
However, if he wants to take his team to the Champions League, he will probably have to add more, the Red Devils are already 3 points behind the Top 4, having played 2 more games than Arsenal.
