Will Šilhavý stay on the bench? I don’t know what will happen. Our contract expires in July, says the coach
It was already clear before the current national team meeting that the decision to stay with the coaching team would be made. The performances after the Euro were not good, moreover, everyone’s contract expires in July and the renewal would probably only happen in case of promotion to the World Cup. How does the situation look now?

Jaroslav Šilhavý, the coach of the Czech national football team, has the opportunity to work with the best players in recent years. The generation has grown up thanks to his excellent work and we need to reap the fruits.
This was done at the Euro, but after that the players’ performances started to decline, and we could see often nonsensical nominations and, consequently, match substitutions.
So it was clear that after the barrage it would be decided whether to look for a new coaching staff. In the event of promotion this would probably not have happened, but the situation is different.
The Czechs fell in extra time to Sweden, and the World Cup is thus passé. Now the elite group of the Nations League is ahead of us and it is very likely that a new coach will have already assembled the team.
“I don’t know how it will be. I don’t know what I can do. I’m ready for anything. First we have to evaluate it with the guys, because our contract expires on the last of July.
We should sit down with the management and the executive committee and evaluate what to do and how to do it,” said coach Šilhavy at the press conference.
A change in the coaching position will not be too easy, few can immediately think of a name they would like to see there. But it is necessary to have a progressive coach who can get the most out of this generation.
