Saturday’s UFC Fight Night in Columbus offered a fight between David Dvorak and Matheus Nicolau on the prelims card. It was the toughest fight of his career for the Czech fighter, and it showed in the fight.
Not much happened in the first round, but Dvorak held the center of the octagon. The second round was crucial for the outcome of the fight, as the Brazilian sent the Czech fighter down. Dvorak, however, survived the critical situation.
Dvorak entered the third round actively, started to turn the fight in his favour, and towards the end of the fight he managed to dominate on the ground, unfortunately he needed to finish his opponent to win, which he did not.
Nicolau won on points 29::28, ending Dvorak’s ten-year unbeaten streak. He boasted a fantastic streak of 16 wins in a row so far.
Moreover, this is the first loss for the Czech fighter in the UFC after three wins. However, this is no tragedy.
The Brazilian praised Dvorak after the fight, saying that he is rightfully in the top 10 of the UFC rankings. He said the East Bohemia native showed a hard chin in the fight.
