Should Darida be afraid? Hertha has a new coach, Morávek and Pilař have bad memories of him

Hertha Berlin are struggling and have changed coaches for the second time this season. Sporting director Fredi Bobic has brought in a coach who certainly commands maximum respect with his name alone. Jan Morávek and Václav Pilař have had their time under him.
Hertha Berlin had already failed to win ten matches in a row. Understandably, this is also reflected in the Bundesliga table, where the team from the German capital has fallen to the relegation places.
Tayfun Korkut, who replaced Pál Dárdai on the bench during the season, has therefore failed to fulfil his mission and is out as head coach. He will be replaced by the highly experienced, respected and also criticised Felix Magath, who won titles with Bayern and Wolfsburg.
“Felix Magath’s CV speaks for itself. We have acquired someone who has proven many times that he can make the right moves and decisions in any situation with his vast experience,” sports director Fredi Bobic told the club’s website.
“We had clear and open discussions with Fredi Bobic. We are aware of the current situation and I am happy to try and help keep Hertha in the top flight. Now it is important that everyone concentrates fully on the remaining eight games,” Magath expressed.
Although Magath has had many successes in his coaching career, he has always been criticised for extreme demandingness, which has ruined the careers of several players. So it almost seems that if the rescue didn’t work out, Magath could at least punish the players for a bad season with his demandingness.
Jan Polák, Petr Jiráček, Václav Pilař and Jan Morávek have already played under the experienced coach. It was Pilař who endured Magath’s drill really hard. Morávek was no different. In an interview with Ruik, he indirectly suggested that Magath had a negative impact on his health.
How the season turns out will be crucial for the future of the club. Hertha had big ambitions until recently and only now could they start to fulfil them. Fredi Bobic is renowned for his great work and it is he who could take the club to the next level by setting a new strategy. But he was allowed to do so too late.
