Villarreal did it! They beat Juventus in Turin to advance to the quarter-finals, and Chelsea is happy too

Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final matches were a blast! Villarreal surprised and beat Juventus 3:0 to advance to the next round. Chelsea of England also confirmed their role as favourites.

The opening match of the Champions League semi-final between Villarreal and Juventus was played on 22 February, when the Italian team took the lead in the first minute, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

So everything was open and the rematch, almost a month after the opening game, was played with the assumption that whoever won would advance. The home team was the favourite, but they didn’t make it.

Although they were slightly better than their Spanish opponents, they are out of the Champions League. The yellow submarine managed to score a goal in the 78th minute from a penalty kick by Moreno.

After that, the Old Lady wanted to work hard, but did not get into a more coherent pressure and cashed in for the second time when Torres scored. Finally, Danjuma scored a third time from another penalty.

The match ended in disaster for the Italian side, 0:3. Villarreal can now celebrate their progress to the quarter-finals.

In the match played in parallel, Chelsea confirmed their role as favourites and beat Lille for the second time. They were down, but turned the score around and won 2-1.
