Trpišovský: Ousou made two stupid fouls, but Plavsic? The red surprised me
Slavia advanced to the quarterfinals of the Conference League, but the game against LASK Linz has a bitter taste. Sešivany lost two players to suspension and lost 3:4. How did coach Jindřich Trpišovský see both situations?
Slavia advanced to the quarterfinals of the Conference League, but the game against LASK Linz has a bitter taste. Sešivany lost two players to suspension and lost 3:4. How did coach Jindřich Trpišovský see both situations?
The Red and Whites took a 4:1 lead from the first match, but they wanted to win the rematch as well. Olayinka sent the Susians into the lead, LASK then equalised, but thanks to an incredible sprint by Sor and a goal by Baha, Slavia went back into the lead.
Slavia dominated the game without any problem and seemed to be able to take care of the match and add more goals. But then came a childish mistake by Aihama Ousou, who made a completely unnecessary foul with a yellow card and had to take a shower after a second yellow card. The first yellow may have been pretty awful, but that doesn’t change the fact that he should have been much more careful with the second foul.
However, Slavia scored a goal in the tenth to make it 3:1, when the speedy Sor again escaped the defence and finished. But things started to happen. In the 76th minute Wiesinger reduced the deficit after a mistake by Mandous, and in the 85th minute Srdjan Plavsic was sent off very harshly. LASK scored two more goals after that, but that was all they could do.
Slavia is happy with the progress, which is spoiled by the loss and especially by two suspended players who will miss at least the first game of the quarterfinals.
“Aiham is one of the players we didn’t want to lose because he was in danger of a card. But we lost him first with a yellow, then with a red. It was our stupidity, similar to the situation in the autumn when he goes to the foul line with a card in a running battle. We had prepared for it before the game, that we didn’t want to get into exactly that situation,” lamented Jindřich Trpišovský at the press conference.
“I don’t know what foul was committed on the second red card. I only saw it in real life, but the red surprised me. With Aiham it was two yellow fouls, a bit stupid, with Srdjan I don’t even know what the collision was, so I can’t really comment on it,” the coach added about the second red card.
But it might not be such a problem for the Sešiovans. Oscar Dorley should be healthy for the quarter-final at left-back, while Ondrej Kudel and Taras Kacharaba should be available at stopper. In addition, Maksym Talovjerov gave a great performance in his usual position.
