Will Nate Diaz leave the UFC? Famous fighter admits he wants to fight in a rival organization
Nate Diaz last fought in June 2021, since then he has tried to request another fight, but to no avail. That’s why he’s now trying to get on a competitive Bellator card featuring his friend.

Although Nate Diaz has never been a UFC champion, he is one of the organization’s biggest stars. His name is one of the best-selling ones. Of course, his rivalry with Conor McGregor has also contributed to this.
It was with the Irishman that Diaz wanted to fight for the third time in his career, but so far it doesn’t seem to be happening. He recently tried to request a fight with Dustin Poirier, but that didn’t work out either.
That said, Diaz last showed up in the cage in June 2021 and is eager for another fight, but he hasn’t come to terms with the UFC yet, even though he still has one fight left on his contract. So he’s trying to get a fight with rival Bellator.
There’s a catch, though. Diaz is still under contract in the UFC, he has one more fight left to fight under another organization’s banner. The card he’s trying to get on at Bellator, meanwhile, is scheduled for April.
Specifically, Diaz is attempting to earn a spot on Bellator 279, which will take place on April 23 in Honolulu, Hawaii. That’s the card that should also feature Diaz’s friend and former UFC fighter Yancy Medeiros, who is set to have his first fight in Bellator.
In addition to the Bellator fight, Diaz is also in line for a boxing match with Jake Paul. He can’t take that one either as long as he’s under contract in the UFC. It’s not yet clear when he’ll get out of it.
