Pablo Torre: The new Spanish super talent that Real Madrid and Barcelona are fighting over

Every country produces different types of talent. But with Spain, the best youngsters are almost always technical midfielders who have perfect ball handling. Next in line is Pablo Torre.

Xavi, Iniesta, Fàbregas, Thiago, David Silva, Isco, currently Pedri, Gavi or Nico. Bringing up undersized midfielders who have the ball glued to their feet is an absolute Spanish masterstroke.

And now comes the next in line. At only 18 years old, Pablo Torre meets the basic parameters of the aforementioned. He’s only grown to 173 centimetres, he’s Spanish and his ball work is a joy to behold. And he meets another condition for the future, Real Madrid and Barcelona are already fighting over him.

He currently plays for Racing Santander, who jumped to the top of the table last weekend. The 4:1 win was led by Torre’s two goals, 11,142 spectators watched the game in the third highest competition, so much so that the young super talent made the local crowd go crazy.

Torre has started 21 games this season, scoring 6 goals and adding 6 assists. He also plays for the U19 Spanish national team, where he scored three times in six games.

It is not for nothing that the Spanish giants are knocking on his door. Both clubs wanted to sign Torre last summer, as did Real Sociedad. However, Racing decided to keep their youngster in the team to continue his development. This has been successful, as he has grown immensely as a footballer in six months. Moreover, he is under contract until 2025, so Racing doesn’t have to worry about losing their talent on the cheap.

EURO U19

We might be able to see the upcoming Spanish superstar very close. The European U19 Championship will be played in Slovakia this year, with Spain facing Denmark and Austria in qualifying. There was also Russia in the group, but UEFA excluded them from all competitions because of the war in Ukraine.

The Iberian team is the clear favourite and should not miss the final tournament. Especially if key player Pablo Torre is healthy.
