Slavia Prague won the return match against Fenerbahce Istanbul and celebrated their qualification to the eighth round of the European Conference League. The Seškivians put in an excellent performance, with two goals from new signing Yira Sora.
Slavia came into the game like a hurricane. The Turkish opponent immediately knocked and besieged the penalty area, but Oscar’s shot from the ninth minute did not end up in the net.
They took the lead ten minutes later when Ivan Schranz got to the ball in a scramble in the penalty area and had no problem finishing.
Slavia’s pressure did not subside and in the 27th minute the 10,000 Slavia fans in the stadium celebrated for the second time. Yira Sor received a beautiful pass and scored alone in front of the goalkeeper against the bar.
Slavia could have scored a third goal, but Altay Bayindir made two excellent saves to keep his team’s hopes alive. And as they say, if you don’t give, you get. In the 39th minute, Hakan Mert Yandas fired a shot from outside the box to reduce the score to 2-1.
Sšiovans continued their good performance after returning to the pitch in the second half, but despite a number of chances they failed to score against their opponents.
In the 63rd minute, however, another euphoria broke out, and again it was the fault of Sor, who burned through everything in his way in the whitewash.
Despite subsequent chances, we did not see another goal from Slavia, the Turkish opponent reduced the deficit in the last minute of regulation time and Slavia won against Fenerbahce 3::2. The result is more than deserved, Susians advance after two quality performances and victories.
Thanks to this, they have once again contributed to the national coefficient and the Czech Republic is closer to the dream 15th place. The Slavs can now look forward to the eight-final draw.
