Khabib Nurmagomedov has retired from professional career, but he continues to be involved in combat sports. Moreover, he has now cut a fight with another UFC star Max Holloway. He managed to knock out the phenomenal stand-up fighter in a boxing match. But there’s a catch. What’s the catch?
With a magnificent 29-0 record, Khabib Nurmagomedov ended his professional career. Instead of fighting, he now devotes his time to training other fighters or running his own organization, Eagle FC.
But now he has found time to brush up on his fighting skills. In a boxing match he took on Max Holloway, a still active UFC star who is always mentioned in discussions about the best fighter in the organization.
It’s worth mentioning that Khabib was supposed to face Holloway at UFC 223 in April 2018. Holloway was supposed to replace the injured Tony Ferguson, however, he was also unable to enter the fight due to health issues.
Thus, the postponed bout was cut now. Not live, but as part of the Metaverse. Holloway took the fight in his living room, Nurmagomedov had a retreat in the AKA Gym.
One might have expected that with his boxing skills and tremendous punching speed, Holloway should have clearly won, only it didn’t happen. On the contrary. Khabib knocked out his rival.
The virtual fight was commented by Daniel Cormier, who is friends with both fighters.
“It’s like a real fight. I really sweat, I feel tired. It’s very interesting. I think this is definitely the future,” Khabibsaid after the win.
