As we have already informed you, Jiří Procházka left for the USA on Monday. Specifically, to Henry Cejudo’s gym to prepare for his and the legendary Jon Jones’ title fight with veteran Glover Teixeira in May. Prochazka’s trainer Martin Karaivanov revealed how the camp itself is going.
The next opponent of the Moravian samurai Glover Teixeira stands out especially with his ground fighting. That’s why it’s no secret that Jiří Procházka flew to the USA to practice wrestling in particular. The Olympic freestyle champion Henry Cejudo should help him with that.
“The first two days we had pure wrestling training with Henry Cejudo and other coaches. There are about six of them,” Procházka’s coach described the first days of preparation in an interview for Kaocko.cz. “For now we are going with the basics and gradually we will expand the techniques,” he added.
Cejudo is known for his attention to detail in a fight and his ability to come up with a great strategy. Most recently, he did it at UFC 270, when he helped Deiveson Figueiredo regain the UFC flyweight championship belt in a trilogy with Moreno.
Cejudo stood in the current champion’s corner from Brazil. “The atmosphere here is great. Everybody here is trying to accommodate us to make the most out of the camp,” Karaivanov said.
“Cejudo even invited us to his house to watch some videos and plan our next course,” he confirmed the great choice to travel to Cejudo.
Karaivanov also confirmed the information that Prochazka will train with perhaps the best MMA fighter of all time, Jon Jones. “Jon Jones is expected to arrive on Thursday. We should train with him and adjust the course of training to that,” he added.
Walk will be in the US for three weeks and he himself did not rule out returning to Cejudo at some point. For us fans, it is amazing to watch his journey in the biggest moment of Czech MMA.
