Tuchel has the coronavirus! Chelsea will leave for the Club World Cup without him

Thomas Tuchel, manager of Chelsea in London, has coronavirus. So the English club will fly to the Club World Cup without him.

After Thomas Tuchel took over the team from Stamford Bridge a year ago, Chelsea is experiencing a hilarious period. Not only has he tuned his team to a winning mentality after taking over a decimated team from former manager Lampard.

In addition, he and his team won the millionaire Champions League for the second time in the club’s history. As we recently informed you, the German manager won the Coach of the Year 2021 award in The Best FIFA Football Awards organised by FIFA.

However,the club’s website reported that the German pilot tested positive for Covid-19 and had to be replaced by assistant Arno Michels. In Saturday’s FA Cup match, the team passed the tough test without their coach, beating Plymouth 2-1 after extra time.

It wasn’t a smooth progression, however, as the visitors almost equalised with two minutes left in extra time. Home goalkeeper Arrizabalaga had to face a penalty kick. But he did his job and Chelsea advanced to the quarter-finals of the oldest competition with a bit of luck.

The Chelsea team also has a busy schedule these days. The semi-finals of the Club World Cup are coming up on Wednesday. Tuchel will not be flying to Abu Dhabi with his players.

He will definitely miss Wednesday’s match. However, if his team advances to Saturday’s final, there is a chance he could join the team and help his charges win this competition for the first time in the club’s history.

The south-west London club had a chance to win the Champions League nine years ago. In the final, played in Japan, Chelsea fell short to Corinthians of Brazil and lost by the narrowest of margins, 0:1.

We wish the successful coach a speedy recovery and hope that he will be present for the English team’s return leg. Apart from the English club, the biggest favourites to win the trophy are also the Brazilian Palmeiras.
