Friday’s Premier League Round 23 preview is worth watching. Watford and Norwich will battle it out for seventeenth place in the table, with only one point separating the two teams. Will the home side confirm their role as slight favourites or will Norwich follow up last week’s win?
Watford broke a run of seven league losses in a row last weekend, drawing 1-1 with Newcastle. They are still seventeenth in the table, just one point off the relegation zone and three points off last-placed Burnley.
Norwich climbed off the bottom of the table with a 2-1 win over Newcastle and are currently eighteenth, one point off seventeenth place. On the other hand, they have two more games played than Watford and must not lose on Friday.
Watford are led by Nigerian sniper Emmanuel Dennis, with eight goals and five assists he is one of the most productive players in the Premier League. Experienced Norwegian striker Joshua King boasts a 5+3 record.
The visitors’ top scorer is Teemu Pukki, with five goals so far. The form of young Irish striker Adam Idaho is on the rise, who scored the decisive goal in the last round against Everton.
Watford’s gunpowder has gone wet in December, with the Hornets scoring only five goals in their last six Premier League games.
Norwich are considerably worse off. With ten goals scored it has the worst attack in the league, and with forty-five goals conceded it has the worst defence. The Canaries also have the most losses in the competition (14).
Considering the leaky defenses of both teams, I think Watford and Norwich will come through.
