Oscar made no secret after leaving for China that he left for money. He doesn’t want to experience poverty again and he says that trophies won’t buy anything. Yet he was one of the most interesting players in Chelsea’s squad and had an interesting future ahead of him.
But he is not playing in China now and the 30-year-old Brazilian is thinking of returning to Europe. Barcelona are interested in him, as he himself has admitted. The Catalan club has already contacted his agent.
“Barcelona want me to join the team until the end of the season. He is still communicating with my agent, but he still has a problem with the registration of new players. Anyway, it’s nice to see that such a great club is interested in you. It wouldbe an incredible opportunity for me and Barcelona,” the footballer said in an interview with TNT Sports.
Oscar believes that he is in great shape right now and an engagement at Barcelona would be great for his career. He says that he is now more experienced and mature, which could help the Catalan side’s squad as there are many youngsters in it.
The Brazilian is reportedly earning £540,000 a week in China, something Barcelona understandably cannot offer him. However, he himself is aware that he would have to discount his salary demands to play at Camp Nou.
A loan move could be in play, according to Oscar, it could be the ideal solution for all parties.
“You give up something to play for a club like Barcelona. But first we have to wait for him to sort out his problems, then we can make a decision,” Oscar added.
