Ronaldo’s ego knows no bounds! For what reason did he block Transfermarkt on Instagram?
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo disagrees with the value given to him by the world-famous Transfermarkt website. The Portuguese thinks they have valued him far below his true worth, which is why he has blocked the popular site’s Instagram account.
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo disagrees with the value given to him by the world-famous Transfermarkt website. The Portuguese thinks they have valued him far below his true worth, which is why he has blocked the popular site’s Instagram account.
The Transfermarkt server deals with research and information on all footballers in the world, to which it continuously updates their current value. The site employs more than 80 staff and has more than 1,000 volunteers working for it.
However, star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has previously worked at Sporting, Real Madrid and Juventus, disagrees with these people regarding his transfer value. The server valued him at €75 million in March 2020, but the Portuguese did not agree with this amount.
The current Manchester United striker tried to do something about his valuation on the Transfermarkt website, but failed. That’s why he blocked their Instagram account.
Two years later, Transfermarkt coordinator Christian Schwarz tried to explain the whole incident.
“They replied to him, explained why, and finally told him that he was the number one player in his age group. The difference between another player and Ronaldo was some 30-50 million euros. He just sent some smileys and then blocked us.”
Currently, the Portuguese’s value is around 35 million euros. That’s less than half the price of two years ago. Schwarz explained this by saying that the value decreases with age.
Schwarz claims that a player can be as good as he was three years ago, for example, but we have to take into account the fact that he is simply three years older.
