Every year, the UFC offers fans the names of a few fighters that are definitely worth watching that year. Last year, Jiri Prochazka made the list, and now David Dvorak has received the honor.
David Dvorak has now had three fights in the UFC, all wins. He has another fight coming up in February, which could move him up the rankings in an interesting way. His opponent will be Su Mudaerji, who now holds a three fight winning streak.
Why did the world’s biggest MMA organization put Dvorak on the list? The reason is obvious. “If you’re looking for a flyweight dark horse, Dvorak is your man. He has a record of 20-3 and leads a 16-fight win streak overall,” reads the text on the UFC’s website.
The Czech fighter is currently No. 10 in the UFC’s flyweight rankings, but he could be even higher, however he has only managed one fight in the past year. However, he gained attention with it, as he only choked out Juancamil Ronderos with one hand.
Dvorak hasn’t lost in almost 10 years. If he wins again in February, he could easily take on an opponent hovering around fifth place.
“A win would put him in the title conversation. Everything we’ve seen from him suggests he has what it takes to measure up to the elites at his weight,” UFC experts are clear.
For our MMA scene, Dvorak’s placement on the list is great news. For the second time in a row, a fighter from the Czech Republic has received attention.
Moreover, Jiri Prochazka will fight for the title this year, and Dvorak could fight his way to the title as well. A few years ago nobody would have even considered a title challenger from the Czech Republic, but soon there could be two.
