The attacking trio of Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi should have been among the best in the world this season. Every football fan was curious to see the three stars work together
Unfortunately, the reality is a little different. Lionel Messi is performing very well, but he doesn’t have the numbers that many would expect. Kylian Mbappé’s numbers are decent, but he burns a lot of chances, which is why Messi doesn’t have double-digit assists and Mbappé over 20 goals.
Then again, Neymar hasn’t even gotten into form yet this season, health complications are to blame. He was overweight at the start of the season and has now been laboured with an ankle injury since the end of November when he was hurt in a match against Saint-Étienne.
The Brazilian has already missed 11 competitive games since the clash with the traditional French side and will miss some time. However, Le Parisien claim that he should make the knockout stage of the Champions League, where PSG will face Real Madrid.
Last week Neymar was able to put down his crutches, now he faces two weeks in the gym, after which he should return to the training fields. However, due to his condition, he is expected to miss the World Cup qualifiers in a Brazil jersey.
The match against Real Madrid is scheduled for 15 February. Will the Brazilian be fit by then?
