A successful Euro, where he was the top scorer of the tournament along with Cristiano Ronaldo, and excellent performances in the Bundesliga. Patrik Schick had an excellent second half of 2021.
He has scored goal after goal for Leverkusen and is chasing the star Robert Lewandowski in the scorers’ table, leaving behind the talented Erling Haaland, who is expected to head to one of Europe’s big clubs in the summer.
According to some speculations, Schick could replace Haaland at Borussia Dortmund, but it doesn’t seem too likely. Leverkusen would certainly not want to sell their biggest star to the competition.
However, the Czech striker need not despair. There is also interest in him in England. First West Ham started to talk, then Arsenal started to be mentioned in connection with Schick, but now an even bigger pike is supposed to be in play.
According to the German version of 90min, Manchester City, one of the best teams in recent years, is interested in Schick. In addition, Everton and Tottenham are reportedly looking to join the battle for the Leverkusen goal scorer.
However, it’s more than clear that Bayer can’t let their gem go for pennies. Huge money is at stake. Leverkusen are certainly not going to sell Schick in the winter, they will let him go in the summer first. And the amount they’ll ask for? It shouldn’t be less than 60 million euros!
Leverkusen bought Schick for 28 million euros, so they would make a good profit by selling him. However, the question is whether the Czech striker himself will actually want to leave. After all, he is doing well at the club, everything suits him and a transfer could be a risky move.
