Barbora Votíková transferred to the women’s team of Paris Saint-Germain in August 2021, specifically from Prague Slavia, where she first made her presence felt.
The Czech international made her mark almost immediately and became a reliable goalkeeper at PSG.
However, Votíková’s engagement in the French capital was thwarted by an injury, namely a long-term cruciate ligament injury in her knee. She brought this on herself last May when she suffered a knock to her knee in a Champions League semi-final rematch against Lyon.
Since her return to full fitness, the Czech goalkeeper has had virtually no chance between the three sticks. However, as a farewell, Votíková at least started the second half of the last match of the last season against Sonyaux.
The Pilsen native did not score during the second half and PSG won the final match of the competition 3:0. The team finished the league season with 55 points, finishing in second place. Olympique Lyon won the championship with 61 points.
During her time with Paris Saint-Germain, Votíková won the French Cup last year. However, due to an injury, she did not play in the final.
“Chapter closed, my days at PSG are over. I am happy that I got the chance to be part of such a great club and to be on the field with such great players. I want to thank all the fans for the unforgettable evenings at the Parc des Princes. It was an honour to wear this jersey,” wrote Votíková on her Instagram.
Wherever the Czech player decides to go in her career, let’s wish her the best for the rest of her career.
