Clash of Slavic captains in the cups! Hušbauer succeeded over Ngade and did not please the Czech coefficient

Josef Hušbauer and Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui met on the same pitch again after two and a half years. As captains of Anorthosis and Gentuy respectively, they clashed in the European Conference League.
Before the game, the cards were clearly dealt, if Gent wanted to be sure of first place, they had to win. For Anorthosis, on the other hand, it was a matter of being and not being, if the Cypriot side wanted to have any hope of promotion, they were forced to win at home.
The important match was directed by two ex-Slavs. The home team was captained by midfielder and former captain of the Susians Hušbauer, while the visitors were led by Cameroonian international Ngadeu, who formed a legendary African stopper duo with Simon Deli.
The match was not very exciting, with only three shots on goal, one of which ended up in the net. Lazaros Christodoulopoulos scored a precise shot to give the underdogs an unexpected success.
Hušbauer was probably the only Czech who was pleased with this victory. Cyprus scored important points in the coefficient and overtook the Czech Republic. Moreover, Anorthosis will play for promotion in the last round.
But it will be extremely difficult. It would have to win on the field of Partizan Belgrade, which is very dominant at home. On the other hand, Ngadeu and his teammates can rest easy, as they are already assured of first place thanks to Partizan’s loss to Flora Tallinn on Thursday.
