As a youngster, Emile Smith Rowe worked at Chelsea but failed. Rejection was tough, but the door was opened for him at Arsenal’s academy, Hale End, where he grew into a great footballer who is now enjoying his first call-up to the national team.
Emile Smith Rowe admitted that being called up to the England national team made him very happy. He also admitted that all he had to do was change a few things in his past and he may never have been at Arsenal, where he grew up to be a great footballer.
Smith Rowe got an invitation to the national team after Marcus Rashford and James Ward-Prowse dropped out of the England selection. So, at the age of 21, he will be playing for the senior national team for the first time and is ready to make the most of the opportunity.
”It’s a dream come true. I definitely didn’t expect it. I was going to the U21s, but Gareth Southgate (England coach) called and said I was joining the first team. It’s an unbelievable moment, everybody’s proud. I want to learn as much as I can here.”
He is currently a huge talent working for Arsenal and the England national team, while in the past he tried to make it at Chelsea but failed. He explains that he was overlooked by his peers.
”It was not easy to accept rejection, especially when I was so young. After that I went straight to Arsenal, they accepted me and I never looked back. I want to be loyal to Arsenal forever,” explains Emile Smith Rowe.
The young England international is having a great season. He has been one of Arsenal’s driving forces, scoring four goals in 11 Premier League games. He has helped the team a lot after a disastrous start to the season.
