Raheem Sterling could leave Manchester City in the winter. According to the latest information, the English club has agreed to the departure of their player, who has been pursued by Barcelona for some time.
Manchester City initially counted on Sterling staying in the team and offered him a contract extension, however, none of these negotiations came to a mutual agreement in the end.
There has been speculation about Sterling’s departure from City for some time. The English footballer is not completely happy at the club and is looking for a new challenge. This, of course, has been noted by a number of clubs interested in Sterling’s services.
The biggest suitor for a transfer is Barcelona. The latter has been looking for Sterling for a long time and he would be a good fit for the team. The Catalan club urgently needs to strengthen, otherwise at the end of the season they may not even reach the positions ensuring participation in European Cups.
According to current information, it looks like Manchester City will agree to the transfer. However, the club’s management is not going to agree to a smaller transfer sum than 45 – 50 million pounds.
Raheem Sterling has a contract at Manchester City until 2023. Barcelona would like to bring him already this winter. If it fails to do so, it is almost certain that Sterling will indeed leave City in the summer.
