Augsburg vs Bayern: Preview and betting tips
Bayern take on Augsburg in the Bundesliga preliminary round. The clash between the first and the sixteenth has a clear favourite, the first games after the national team break are often tricky.
Bayern take on Augsburg in the Bundesliga preliminary round. The clash between the first and the sixteenth has a clear favourite, the first matches after the national team break are often tricky.
Augsburg cannot be satisfied with their season so far. They are only 16th in the table, one point behind the relegation places. They’ve only won twice so far, so it’s time to work hard.
At Bayern, nothing has changed from year to year. At the top of the Bundesliga, the Munich side has a four-point lead over second-placed Dortmund, having lost just five points so far with one draw and one loss.
The home side’s top scorer is injured, Florian Niederlechner pulled his groin in October. Andi Zeqiri is picking up minutes in the Bundesliga, the young Swiss on loan from Brighton has picked up two goals and one assist so far.
Bayern’s stars need not be written about at length. Robert Lewandowski clearly tops the scorers’ table with thirteen goals, Thomas Müller even had a hand in fourteen goals (4+10).
Augsburg boast a well-functioning defence, with four of the last six games getting no more than one goal.
Now the home defence will be put to the test, as Bayern have scored at least four goals in five of their last seven games.
Given the form of Bayern’s attack, I think the visitors will win by at least two goals.
