Chapecoense vs. Flamengo: Preview and betting tips

The club, which was marred by tragedy five years ago en route to the Copa Sudamericana final, is fighting to save itself in Brazil’s top competition this year. It welcomes Flamengo at home on Tuesday.

Chapecoense are struggling so far, hopelessly last in the table, sixteen points behind seventeenth place. If they want to keep their theoretical chance of survival, they must win on Tuesday. Only eight rounds to go.

It is Flamengo who are in the Top 4 guaranteeing the Copa Libertadores (American Champions League). It has a five-point lead over fifth-placed Fortaleza and two games in hand. They are twelve points behind the unbeaten Atletico.

The mainstay of the home team is captain Anselmo Ramon, who has scored ten goals (8+2). Twenty-three-year-old Perotti has also made eight appearances, while twenty-two-year-old Lima boasts two goals and four assists.
