Josh Kroenke, the Arsenal director and son of the club’s owner, was keen to tell Sky Sports how he sees the future of the north London team, talking about Daniel Ek’s interest in buying the team and the Canaries’ overall ambitions.
Josh Kroenke tells everyone straight up that Arsenal are not for sale. Daniel Ek, who was very interested in buying the club, has sent a big offer to the owners. The owners rejected the £1.8 billion offer.
Josh Kroenke says they turned down Ek’s offer because they believe that with their current big ambitions they will bring success to north London themselves. They have big plans and they’re not about to give them up.
Daniel Ek, along with former Arsenal players and legends Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp, sent an offer to Stan Kroenke, the owner of Arsenal. However, he received no response to the offer. It’s only now that Josh Kroenke’s rejection has come.
”We’ve had several offers to buy the club from different parts of the world. That speaks volumes about the strength of Arsenal. Arsenal Football Club is a global brand and my only answer to everything is that the club is not for sale because we are starting to write a new history.”
Kroenke believes that with the new model they have recently introduced, there will be dream success. The model, based on nurturing talented players and letting them grow, is practiced in other Kroenke Sports & Entertainment organizations.
“We have only really owned the club since 2018. We have a young manager, we have a young team and we are charting a path for the future,” says the Arsenal owner
Arsenal have spent the most money of any English club this summer. The north London team has lagged far behind richer clubs in recent years, but Kroenke believes that with a new strategy Arsenal will soon catch up.
