Kylian Mbappé misses a penalty kick in the Champions League. However, he doesn’t have to be sorry because his team managed to turn it around and beat their opponents. Anyway, how did he evaluate his performance?

The third round of the Champions League group stage saw PSG play Leipzig. In the ninth minute Mbappé scored to put the Parisian team in the lead.

In the 28th minute, however, André Silva scored to level the score at 1-1. In the second half, Nordi Mukiele sent Leipzig into the lead, but the Parisians managed not only to equalise, but also to turn the match in their favour.

Lionel Messi equalised in the 67th minute and seven minutes later he added another goal from a penalty kick.

And it was not the only penalty in the match. Mbappé had another opportunity in stoppage time in the second half. However, he sent his shot high over the bar and could not increase PSG’s lead. But the French outplayed Leipzig 3-2.

“I feel very good. I’m happy with my life, I’m happy on the pitch, and that translates into my performance,” Mbappé said in a post-match interview.

“The missed penalty doesn’t bother me, it didn’t matter that much in the end. Anyway, I’m happy that our team won today,” he continued.

“The Champions League is a very tough competition, every team wants to win. But we want to win as well, and that is what we take with us into our match against Marseille this weekend,” he concluded.

PSG currently lead the Group A table with seven points. Behind them is Manchester City with six points. Club Brugge have two points less, while Leipzig are last without a single point.

As far as the situation in Ligue 1 is concerned, the Parisians are firmly in control of the situation – they are currently leading the French top flight with a nine-point lead.
