The choice of the best footballer of the year is already around the corner. According to the bookmakers, the biggest favourite to win is Lionel Messi. However, not everyone agrees, especially the best current players.
The choice of the best footballer of the year is already around the corner. According to the bookmakers, the biggest favourite to win is Lionel Messi. However, not everyone agrees, especially the best current players.
Cristiano Ronaldo would certainly like to win the Ballon d’Or, as he would be able to match his biggest rival, who is currently with PSG. But that is 99% unlikely to happen.
Rather, the expectation is that Messi will add to his collection and become the best in history, and there can be no doubt about that.
Gerard Piqué would like to see his former teammate with his seventh Ballon d’ Or If they pick the best player in the world, it will be Messi.”
” It’s a privilege to play with him and he would definitely deserve the Ballon d’Or.”
That being said, Ronaldo would definitely not give Messi his vote. He would have voted his former teammate Karim Benzema as the best footballer of the year. “My candidate for the Ballon d’Or is Benzema. There can be no doubt that he is the best,” Ronaldo is clear.
” If I had to choose someone, I would take the last two seasons into account, because last year no one was chosen. In this case, I would choose Lewandowski.”
As already mentioned, according to the bookmakers, Lionel Messi is the biggest favourite to win, followed by Robert Lewandowski and Jorginho. Mohamed Salah and Karim Benzema could also be in the top 5.
So it will be very interesting to see whether a player who regularly scores goals or a midfielder who has won the two most valuable trophies this year will be chosen.
